Another exclusive idea for your issue 11 kit!Ooh, we just had another idea for a card! If you've got some bits and pieces left from issue 11, and a birthday round the corner, have a go at this magnificent bloom!
Fold a red card blank so that the white is on the outside. Cover the front with light blue paper. Cut a panel of patterned paper slightly taller than the card. Back the panel with red paper and trim the right edge with scallop-edged scissors before sticking to your card. Cut three strips of spotty paper with scallop-edged scissors and layer to create a looped flower. Draw around the large flower embellishment to cut out the red flower. Use the template to cut six blue petals from a blue card. Layer the pieces together with plenty of sticky pads and top with the small flower embellishment. Use the template to cut out the stem and leaves and stick to your card. Add the 3D flower and finish with a few button details.
To use the template, just right click on it and save it to your desktop, then you can open the image in a different window and print it out. Christine's latestWe love the way Christine in Nottingham has made our issue 10 cover card, mixing her kit from that issue with gems from issue 2. Do you use up all your kit items? And do you like to mix elements from one kit with another, or keep them separate? Let us know!
Cards from issue 11
Well done to Pearletta Wilson for getting these card designs from issue 11 spot on! They look fab Pearletta. She says, "I made both these cards in one day and I had so much fun. Great designs. Just stopping long enough to post these to you and then I am off to make some more! Thanks for a wonderful magazine!" Our pleasure, keep us up to date with what you're making!
Sunshine stateWe're so glad you liked the sunflower cards in issue 11 – weren't they the friendliest cards? So cheerful too. If we can't get the sunshine in real life, let's at least get it into our crafting! Here's how reader Pat Betts interpreted the designs – isn't it gorgeous?
Pat says, "I adapted the template and made cards using some of your paper and other card/paper I had. I try to always use something recycled – the petals are made from old card A4 folders and art paper. I am now retired and enjoy making cards for family and friends and art exhibitions." Thanks for sharing your design with us Pat. We love cupcakes!
Many thanks to Marie Webb in Southampton who sent us this picture of her gorgeous cupcake-inspired cards. Marie says, "I thought I would send you a picture of a card and bag I made for my friend's birthday this month. I used two different issues; the cake card came from no7 and the cake bag from no5. I also stitched a cupcake biscorno to continue the theme! With some bath treats from Lush thrown in, I'm hoping she will like it... Looking forward to all the Christmas designs. Thanks for a wonderful magazine :)" I'm sure she will like it Marie – it's cupcake-tastic (and who doesn't like cake?). Win loads of beads!

Credit crunch crafting
It's official, the nation's getting craftier! According to a new report from Grove Fresh, 80% of British consumers are getting creative in light of the credit crunch, stretching their cash through arts, crafts and DIY. 16% of people say they make cards and gifts instead of buying them and a tenth are dusting off sewing kits to save money on clothing and soft furnishings. What do you think? Does crafting save you money? I have to confess I probably spend nearly as much on rubber stamps as I do on my mortgage. All you need to know about beads! You Can Craft issue 12 is out tomorrow! Those of you who subscribe and get an advance copy will want to know where we got all the gorgeous beads on pages 20 and 21 from. For the rest of you, it's always fun to get a sneaky peek at what's coming up...
